I am so guilty of ignoring my blog!!!  Sooooo...to catch things back up:  I am working on getting ready for my inst. checkride. YIKES! I have really enjoyed this training (much more than my private pilot training).  I feel like I have leveled off at this point and I must find that little push to get this checkride finished!

I moved right on to my inst. training and to be honest I have enjoyed it much more then the private pilot training. HA! We'll see if I’m saying that in a few weeks! I have flown "double 0 dumpster" for the last time and do not intend on getting back in that plane any time soon.

The coolest thing happened the other day! I went out to the airport and I figured we were going to work on holding or ground. I was way off! I ended up getting a high performance endorsement in a C206...this is not even the good part. So, we are just to the north of the airport and Lloyd says, "hey look over there, its four F-18s” To which I respond,” where, I just see birds!" Sure enough the crossed right over the airport and circled around downtown and came back. It was too cool!! Plus the wx was perfect, and the sun was setting. Def. a flight I will not forget.

I'd say this flight and my first long cross country (at night) during a meteor shower are my favorite!

well, I took my check ride last Saturday...and it went just fine. The wx was so crummy Lloyd had to fly me up there (BWG). I think that may have been the quietest ride ever! Once we arrived the examiner went over all of my paperwork, and Lloyd stepped out so that the oral could begin. The examiner incorporated real situations, and incidents that have happened around here to ask questions. This was much better than regurgitating memorized info. Then we fly...There was a hot air balloon festival located on one of the other runways, I was pretty nervous on top of that and the wx. It went pretty smooth...okay, minus one tiny thing.

Ok, these pics are from the day before my ride (actually I was supposed to take it on this day, but the flaps were stuck up on "double 0 dumpster") We flew it to Dickson for maint. and it was a race against the storm the whole way. The sky really opened up just as I made a dash for the FBO. We got the crew car and went for lunch...apparently the people in Dickson don't use parking brakes because the truck almost rolled into the ditch!

then we got lost and stopped at this little gas station where Lloyd found this...

I am just getting started on my inst. rating and my dad is planning on being my safty pilot!! Just yesterday he had is first flight in GA in 27 years!! He keeps saying, "Whoa!!! Single engine IFR, are you nuts?!?" I am so glad we will be able to fly together.

ain't nothing like waiting till the last min!  i out here at the airport to finish up a couple more requirements for my checkride on fri. morning and i discover that the flaps on the 'dawg' no longer feel it necessary to operate....

Since my last update:
I have finished my solo cross-country trips and am getting ready for my check ride on Fri.

I got a call on my way home from the airport...NWAs stock just dropped 58%. I'm guessing this means bankruptcy sometime this week. I don't know, not much else to say. SUCK
